“The Tale of Yumi” visits Heian Kyoto

“The Tale of Yumi” is a retelling of “The Tale of Genji,” the first realistic psychological novel written in 10th-century Kyoto during the Heian period, which forms the basis for Japanese culture, literature, and the arts. Today, tourism is so popular in Kyoto that the city suffers from overtourism by visitors who do not study its history. My novel aims to encourage more people to read the long 1,000+ page novel.

To make Kyoto relevant, I’ve integrated new technologies popular among young people — AI, VR, AR, blockchain, and other cryptocurrencies — and show how they could be used for online dating, historical research, architecture, and urban design, which my tech startups have done since 2016.

Enjoy my novel and tell your friends about it, especially if they’re planning to visit Kyoto.
